Although Monday was a beautiful day, no one showed up to work at the house. Today, they made some adjustments to some misaligned studs on the second floor and began to construct the deck rails. They are beautiful!

They also made a sample for the risers on the steps. We think the opening needs not to extend so far into the board and that they should not be cut into the risers for top or bottom steps in a flight to hide the structure behind the steps.

In other words, the opening should look more like below with the opening just above the tread below.
