Sorry for not posting for the last week but so much has happened that I have not really taken the time to take photos and post. We have slept at the new house the last two night. We rescheduled the movers from today until Wednesday, but most everything is coming together. The contractor is going to try and finish up the punch list tomorrow.

Barbara has finished most of the shelving in the bedroom closets. Still have to do the pantry and the laundry room. We have moved a bed and the dining table in. Also, the fireplace is going, the AV trim-out is complete, the TV is mounted, and the cable/Internet is working!

Sunday 20091011

After working all day Friday and yesterday, the gas tank installer had to come back today to finally get the stump out and complete the installation. Last night, Barbara put together the four rocking chairs for the front porch while I programmed the water softener. This afternoon, Uncle Earl and Aunt Madeline (from Baltimore) came over and sat on the porch for a good while. Barbara's cousin Judy Lewis also came over and brought us a beautiful lamp she had filled with shells she and her parent's collected in the Philippines and other areas of the Pacific. She also gave us a set of glasses that Barbara immediately displayed in the glass cabinet to the left of the refrigerator. The upstairs floors will probably have to be re-done as they are way too shiny.

Friday 20091009

Yayyyy! The refrigerator came today. Now the kitchen is complete except for a couple of minor items the cabinet installers need to take care of. Barbara replaced the darker, pink lampshades on the chandelier with some brighter, white ones. The upstairs floor is still curing so I have not taken photos of the new washer and dryer yet. OOPS, there is a Carolina laurel cherry root bowl right where the LP gas tank needs to go.

Thursday 20091008

The grass is coming up so pretty! We received our CO late Wednesday and the crew came back today to reinstall the back stairs and cap the retaining wall. The refrigerator is scheduled for delivery tomorrow and the upstairs washer and dryer were installed today. Immediately after that the upstairs hardwood floors were refinished so I did not get any photos of the w/d yet.

Tuesday 20091006

Arrghh! Final CO inspector did not show up today as he had promised. Cleaning lady cleaned out the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen.

Friday 20091002

The chief inspector was still out sick today, but the code manager has called a meeting for Monday morning to discuss the alternative method proposed for our roof design. We should know something Monday afternoon about whether we will get the CO under alternative methodology or not. Coastal Lighting added the shells and shades to the dining room fixture and replaced the grills on the deck lights today. Barbara watered the sod and seeded areas this morning and we got a little drizzle around lunch time to help out. Also, Newsome Hardwood Floors re-did the downstairs due to some areas they missed on the last coat.

Thursday 20091001

Still working on getting the CO. Final few rolls of sod installed this morning. HVAC charged and turned on today and Barbara and I checked out the lights this evening. We also watered the lawn again.

Wednesday 20090930

Well, still no CO. However, the landscaping is done except for a few rolls of sod. It is so disappointing not to be able to move in yet.
